It doesn’t take a financial genius to successfully manage family finances into the black.
Just ask Andy Hill! He and his wife Nicole were a DINK (dual income, no kids) couple earning 6 figures. They thought they were doing really well with their finances…. until the day they sat down and reconciled all their accounts. They didn’t like what they found and immediately resolved to work on getting their finances into shape.
With a little googling and some changes to their life, they went from a -$50k net worth to having over $700k! Even more impressive, they accomplished this in less than 7 years and while navigating a growing family!
You’ll love Andy’s incredible story and how they managed to turn their finances around!

Key takeaways from our chat with Andy
1 – What gets measured gets managed
Andy and his wife were high earners and must have had a high net worth, right? Wrong. They didn’t know how much debt they actually had until they sat down and calculated their net worth. They were horrified at what they found and immediately got to work at reducing their debt.
2 – Have a budget party
Pizza, wine, and …. spreadsheets? What could be more romantic?
Andy and Nicole had monthly budget parties where they sat down and went over the month’s progress towards their debt paydown. Nicole wasn’t so into it at the beginning, but wine and pizza was enough to convince her to go long enough for her to see the usefulness of the parties.
3 – Does your company offer unlimited vacation days?
Chime in on the Facebook group! Do you have unlimited vacation days? Or are you on the “standard” vacation plan of X amount of days per year?
